Hello, I am Teresa Proaño, Vice Mayor of the City of Daly City. Since my appointment on April 1, 2024, and subsequent election in November 2024, it has been my honor to serve as your council member. I have worked diligently alongside our dedicated Daly City Staff and fellow council members to represent our residents and support local businesses with integrity and respect.
As a lifelong resident, I am deeply committed to the multicultural community that makes Daly City unique. My approach is rooted in kindness and empathy; I value diverse perspectives and believe in active listening to solve the issues facing our city. My decades of experience—from the Daly City Planning Commission to the Skyline College President’s Council—have provided me with the essential tools to continue leading our community toward a bright future.
My roots here run deep. I grew up in Daly City in a large, vibrant family and am a proud 1979 graduate of Jefferson High School. My husband, Gustavo, and I raised our three children here and are now blessed with six grandchildren. I am running for re-election this November to continue making a difference in my hometown, and I respectfully ask for your support and your vote in November 2026.
